TOWN OF WHEATON
MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING HELD AUGUST 9, 2011
Notices were posted August 6, 2011 at the Town Hall, Fire Station, Eau Claire Travel Center, Recycling Center.
Paul Krumenauer called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Present: Paul Krumenauer, Bud Beckwith, Fred Anderson, Al Solberg, Ken Custer, Ruth Fagerland, Mark Christenson, Tom Piercy, Jim Syverson, Rick Podolak, Heidi Mercer, Bill Mercer, Adam Blaskowski, Chad Gehweiler.
Al motioned to approve the minutes of the July meeting. Bud second, motion carried.
Fred motioned to approve the treasurer's report. Ken second, motion carried. Mark will provide the Board with a report on equipment repairs for the next meeting.
Rick Podolak from AT&T presented the Board with a permit to bury telephone facilities/fiber along 50th Ave. from CTH F to 9421 50th Ave. with an estimated restoration date of 9/23/11.
Bill Mercer would like the Board to re-visit paving 46th Ave. Residents on 46th Ave. would need to pay for the project through special assessments. Once the project is complete and paid the Town could take over maintenance of the road.
Bud read the minutes of the July Plan Commission meeting. The agenda incliuded the tennis court, upper park section, tent camping on the hill. Paul stated there are two open positions on the Plan Commission.
Ken motioned to hire Senn Blacktop for tennis court pavement replacement as per the June 14th bid of $16,581.00. they will reuse all the old fencing. Al second, motion carried. $10,000.00 will come from the Park account and the balance will come from the Town Recreation Fund.
Hiring an auditor was postponed until September.
The Board stated Pat will need a statement from his doctor approving him to be able to work prior to returning to work.
Ken motioned to approve Plan Commission compensation in the amount of $25.00/meeting attended/member. Fred second, motion carried.
Al gave the Fire Board report. A full time paramedic has been hired, the Board approved installing I.V. pumps from Sacred Heart Hospital in each ambulance, and there was discussion on bids for a new fire truck for Station #1.
Fred asked what to do about sunken graves at the cemeteries. Al suggested having Nate fill in the holes when he is mowing.
Next meeting was set for September 13, 2011.
Bud motioned to adjourn, Ken second, meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
