TOWN OF WHEATON
MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING HELD MARCH 9, 2010
Paul Krumenauer called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Present: Paul Krumenauer, Bud Beckwith, Bob Sworski, Al Solberg, Ken Custer, Ruth Fagerland, Mark Christenson, Nate Labelle, Pat Blaeser, Tom Piercy, Fred Anderson, Mark Blaskowski, Adam Blaskowski, Maria Konop, Dale Birch, Pandy Seidling, Bob Hayden.
Minutes of the February Meeting were approved as written.
Treasurer's Report was approved as presented. The high yield account is at 1.5% and the NOW account is .5% interest. Bob want to explore investing monies for a longer period with Northwestern Bank to gain a higher interest.
Ken discussed the presentation by Visit Eau Claire. They want to put five pages on the Wheaton website with information. They are Home Page, Community Calendar, Businesses, Clubs & Organizations, Tourism Information. Anyone with items to add to these pages is encouraged to contact the Wheaton Board.
Bob presented the paperwork for transfer of 103rd Street right-of-way.
Nathan Labelle explained his lawn mowing proposal for the Town. The Park is $350, Cemeteries are $150 each and the Hall is $50 to equal $700/complete town mowing. If ball fields required extra mowings they would be $75.00 each. Ken motioned to accept the proposal frm Nate Labelle of $700.00/complete town mowing and $75.00 for extra ball field mowings in 2010. Al second, motion carried.
The Board reviewed proposals for a new endloader. Ken made a motion to decide whether or not to hold to the specs. that have been presented with extended reach endloaders. Bob second. Roll call was taken. Bud-yes, Bob-yes, Al-yes, Paul-yes, Ken-no. Motion carried. Al made a motion to purchase the Komatsu WA250-6 from Roland Equipment for $90,000.00 after trade-in contingent to getting approved financing at the Annual Meeting. Bud second. Roll call vote was taken. Bud-yes, Bob-yes, Al-yes, Paul-yes, Ken-no, motion carried.
Bob presented his ad for proposals from financial consultants. He hope to get at least three proposals.
Al reported the Fire Board held a special closed session but no direct action was taken. The Fire Dept. is requesting an additional $4,000-$5,000 from Country Fest for ambulance and first aid service.
Bob Sworski thanked the Board and resdients for their support during the terms in office as chairman and supervisor.
The next Board meeting was set for Tuesday, April 13, 2010 following the Annual Meeting which starts at 7 p.m.
Meeting adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
