TOWN OF WHEATON
MINUTES OF JUNE 9, 2009
Notices were posted at the Town Hall, Fire Station, Recycling Center, Eau Claire Travel Center on June 7, 2009.
Paul Krumenauer called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Present: Paul Krumenauer, Bud Beckwith, Bob Sworski, Al Solberg, Ken Custer, Ruth Fagerland, Mark Christenson. Minutes of the May meeting were accepted as read.
Treasurer’s Report was approved as presented.
Bud reported on the comprehensive plan discussing the Hwy T Corridor, M and X intersection and land use and development.
Bob reported there needs to be a new description from John Mikesh for the transfer of 103rd Street right-of-way.
Everything is on schedule with the Park Plan. Two dugouts will be done in about a week, newer bleechers have been located and water problems have been corrected.
There was no discussion on road upkeep and improvements on 46th Avenue.
Bud motioned to grant Ron Curry’s variance request to reconstruct a deck at 1129 Cty Hwy F contingent to following correct specs for construction. Bob second, motion carried. Bob motioned to appoint Ruth Fagerland as Board of Review alternate for the 2009 Board of Review. Al second, motion carried.
Al made a motion to hire Fahrner to Crack Seal with a three year warranty at $1.15/lb. not to exceed $57000.00 in 2009. Bud second, motion carried.
Ken made a motion to accept Scott Constructions double chip seal bid for 50th Avenue at $22,789.00. Bud second, motion carried.
Ken made a motion to accept Scoff Construction’s crack seal and bailer slag bid for the Town Hall parking lot at $3,191.00. Bud second, motion carried.
Bud made a motion to approve the Blacktop estimate for 10th Street fran Chippewa County at $109,475.16 and shouldering at $2,651.82. Al second, Bob abstained, motion carried. Bob motioned to approve liquor license applications for William & Lori Kleich of Loopy’s, Suzanne Schroeder of River Inn Bar, Mary Eckwright of Wander Inn, River Country Coop. of 29 Pines & Eau Claire Travel Center, Susan VanderWegen of Low Down Saloon, Al & Donna Sachs and Tom & Pamela Kell of River Bend Vineyard & Winery. Ken second, Al obstained, motion carried. Water filtering system for the Town Hall was tabled.
Al requested input from the Board regarding the purchase of a new fire truck. The Board replied a standard chasice and body is adequate. Al reported the fire board voted to establish an accrual method of accounting to get a better handle on income and expenses. The fire board also established a fee for on scene care.
Next meeting was set for July 14, 2009 at 7 p.m. Meeting adjourned,
