TOWN OF WHEATON
MINUTES OF JULY 14,2009
Notices were posted at the Town Hall, Fire Station, Recycling Center, Eau Claire Travel Center on July 12, 2009.
Paul Krumenauer called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Present: Paul Krumenauer, Bud Beckwith, Bob Sworski, Al Solberg, Ken Custer, Ruth Fagerland, Mark Christenson. Minutes of the June meeting were accepted as read.
Treasurer’s Report was approved as presented.
Bud reported the Plan Commission is working with the Landuse & Development Dept. and the map is almost complete for the comprehensive plan.
No old business was discussed.
Bob reported bleachers will cost $3000.00 per section and we would need 6 sections. Bob will price materials needed to repair the backs. No decision was made.
No one was present from the Chippewa Valley Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. Bob stated it will cost $1,480.00/quadrant for curb and gutter by Truax Church. He will discuss the problem with T.E.C. who was responsible for the original project
Bob has proposals for cutting the drains in the dugouts in the amount of $850.00.
Al Willett volunteered the labor for metal trim installation on the dugouts and repairing the roofs over the picnic tables as a Scout Project. The Town will need to furnish the materials. Al made a motion to have Al Willett and his Scout Troop do the dugout and picnic table project. Ken second, motion carried.
Bob reported there has been an increase in traffic on 103rd Street, 33rd Avenue, and 106th Street since the opening of River Bend Winery. He suggested using the yellow 35 MPH signs which are advisory signs.
Paul will have Ken Gibson attend a Board meeting to explain the water filtering system for the Town Hall.
Bob made a motion to purchase 5500 gallons of propane from River Country Coop. at $1.05/gallon. Bud second, Al obstained, motion carried.
Al gave the Fire Board report. The Town of Howard still wants the same fire truck originally requested. The Fire Board will establish a price for the truck Howard gets. Al believes the ambulanc and fire department should be split and hire someone to do the billing and accounting. Next meeting was set for August 11, 2009 at 7 p.m.
