July 12, 2011 Town of Wheaton Monthly Board Meeting (not yet approved)
Minutes from July 12, 2011 Tuesday Monthly Board meeting.
Present: Bud Beckwith, Paul Krumenauer, Ken Custer, Fred Anderson, Al Solberg, Ruth Fagerland, Lloyd Benner, Adam K, Tom Piercy
Absent: Mark Christenson

Clerk’s Report: Al made motion to approve the minutes of June Board meeting, Ken 2nd
Treasurer’s report: Al made motion to approve report, Bud 2nd.
Treasurer mentioned that all state funds will be ACH to high yield account at NW bank.
Public Comments: None
Parks & Planning Commission Update: Bud read minutes of June’s meeting. I got a copy of the minutes for you and put it on your desk.
Discussions regarding the land that was sold regarding the house & can he build on land…….. Ken will respond to her (Stelter ?)
Al made motion to approve the minutes and Ken 2nd the Parks & Planning minutes.
Old business:
1: Tennis courts: Discussion on the options & costs. Discussion of ideas as what to do.
Should fence be replaced or replace the poles.
Fred thought that the shop guys could do most of the work
Ken does not want the courts to look like a patch job; he wants it to be done right.
Bud requested that the Board go to the next Plan meeting.
Ken moved to table and Bud 2nd to table.
New Business:
1. Temporary Class B license: Al motioned to approve the Permit Ken 2nd
Ken reviewed the Insurance certificate for last months liquor license. He mentioned that someone did not give a copy of their insurance as the person did not want anyone to know what his liability insurance is.
Ken will follow thru with the legal part of the townships responsibility is, as discussed at June’s meeting.
2. Auditor: Ken will get 2 bids. He said Independent CPA would save the Town money.
Tom P. said CPA may not be knowledgeable regarding Municipality law, & Fall is better to get a better deal.
Al made a motion to proceed and to get some estimates. Ken 2nd Passed.
Fire Board Report: A person was let go because of using tobacco. Law suit was settled out of court. A new policy regarding the use of tobacco was instituted. Al did not have copy of Fire meeting minutes.
Board Open Discussion: Much discussion regarding American ----Al went over billing statement with Bud. The feeling was that we do not owe the money . Al and Bud are going to look into this matter and plan to meet with American Express and go over the contract and bid.
Mark is to give the bid to Al.
Do not pay the invoice till further notice.
Ken would like to formally have on the August Agenda regarding the road inspections that he had brought up last year.
Update on Pat
Ayres is putting together a bid for the Bridge work.
Concession stand is done. Blocks were knocked out and are now repaired.
