TOWN OF WHEATON
MINUTES OF JANUARY 12, 2010
Notices were posted at the Town Hall, Fire Station, Eau Claire Travel Center, Recycling Center on January 9, 2010.
Paul Krumenauer called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.. Present: Paul Krumenauer, Bud Beckwith, Bob Sworski, Al Solberg, Ken Custer, Ruth Fagerland, Mark Christenson.
The Board approved the November and December minutes as submitted.
The Treasurer's Report was approved as presented.
Pat Blaeser discussed tree trimming along town roads and the shop pressure washer.
Transfer of 103rd Street right-of-way was tabled until February.
Bob motioned to approve hiring PWS of Minnesota, Inc. to connect the pressure washer to the natural gas line at a cost of $1,500.00. Ken second, motion carried.
Bud motioned to approve the purchase of two scoreboards and one controller for the ball fields from Deutschlander, Inc. at a cost of $500.00. Ken second, motion carried.
Tony Christopherson presented the Board with a map showing the land division regarding his variance request. Al made a motion to approve Tony Christopherson's request for variance on the property located at 1504 50th Ave. Bud second, motion carried.
John Neihart explained the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System standards and procedures. Wisconsin Emerency Management is overseeing the project. Bud motioned to table entering into the state MABAS until the agreement is reviewed by the Board. Al second, motion carried.
Bob motioned to approve the Resolution to Oppose DOR County Assessment Proposal. Bud second, motion carried.
Ken and Bob discussed pros and cons of purchasing and leasing an endloader. Ken motioned to investigate the purchase of an endloader according to our Road Crew specifications. Bob second, motion carried.
Paul reported the Chippewa Fire District will be holding a NIMS/ICS 100/700 class at Station 6 in the Town of Howard on January 20, 2010. The class is for both emergancy services and elected officials to be compliant with the federal regulations.
Ken requested to get bids from two accounting firms to provide a management review of the Town of Wheaton accounts. Bob Sworski and Tom Piercy agreed to investigate this request.
Bob announced he is writing letters to the Milwaukee Brewers and Minnesota Twins requesting donations for the Wheaton Park.
The next meeting was set for February 9, 2010. Meeting adjourned.
