February 10, 2009 Minutes of February Town Hall Meeting
TOWN OF WHEATON
MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 10, 2009
Notices were posted at the Town Hall, Fire Station, Recycling Center, and
Eau Claire Travel Center.
Paul Krumenauer called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present: Paul Krumenauer, Bud Beckwith, Dale Hawkins, Alan Solberg, Ruth Fagerland, Mark Christenson. Bob Sworski was absent.
Minutes of the January meeting were approved as read.
Treasuer's report was accepted as presented.
Bud reported the Town is about half way through the Comprehensive Plan process. Lot size is still an issue.
No action was taken on the transer of 103rd Street right-of-way.
The Board tabled changing the Room Tax Policy.
Bud reported Ted Solberg and Bob Sworski gave a presentation on the Wheaton Park Plan Proposal before the Casper Foundation. The Casper Foundation granted a $30,000.00 matching fund for the Wheaton Park. The money may be used for playground equipment.
Dick Kelley has vacated his seat on the Wheaton Plan Commission. Dale motioned and Al second to appoint Tom Piercy to the Wheaton Plan Commission. Tom accepted, motion carried.
The petition for Gerald and Marcia Goettl to rezone their property from agricultural to residential was reviewed. Bud made a motion to approve the request to rezone from agricultural to residential contingent that nothing else changes regarding the easements or with the sale of land of nearby properties. Dale second. Roll call vote was taken. Paul-yes, Bud-yes, Dale-yes, Al-no. Motion carried.
Al made a motion to accept the 2009 Mowing Propsal by Complete Property Maintenance to mow and trim the Cemeteries, Town Hall area, Ball Flields, and Fire Station area for $700.00 per service. Bud second, motion carried.
Al reported the Fire Board has approved the purchase of a new radio for receiving fire calls and is checking into the purchase of more defibulators. Joint ventures in fire protection for the towns, village and city is still being investigated.
Paul, Bud, Ruth, Mark will attend the WTA District meeting in Eau Claire on March 6, 2009. Steve Gibbs introduced himself as candidate for Curcuit Court Judge in the February 17th Primary.
Next meeting was set for March 10, 2009 at 7 pm.
