TOWN OF WHEATON
MINUTES OF DECEMBER 8, 2009
Notices were posted at the Town Hall, Fire Station, Eau Claire Travel Center, Recycling Center on December 5, 2009.
Paul Krumenauer called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Present: Paul Krumenauer, Bud Beckwith, AI Solberg, Ken Custer, Ruth Fagerland, Mark Christenson. Bob Sworski arrived at 7:30 p.m.
AI made a motion to suspend reading the November 10th meeting minutes. Bud second.
Roll call vote was taken: Bud-yes, AI-yes, Ken-yes, Paul-no, motion carried.
Ken made a motion to approve the Treasurer's Report and suggested to contact other financial institutes in search of a better rate of interest. AI second, motion carried.
The Clerk read the names of the election inspectors for the 2010-2011 term. Norma Ausman, Barbara Shiffer, Roger Fagerland, Ruth Fagerland, Ronda Gappa, Carol LeDuc, Ruth Blake,Sharon Hawkins, Lorraine Benner, Nancy Stelter, Theresa Kunferman, Marcia Goettl. Ken motioned to approve all the nominees for election inspectors in 2010-2011. AI second, motion carried.
Brad Henschel discussed the edits to the comprehensive plan. Bud read the 5 acre ordinance in regard to the comprehensive plan. Bob made a motion to adopt as ordinance the Town of Wheaton Comprehensive Plan. Ken second. Roll call vote was taken. Bud-no, Bob-yes, AI-yes, Ken-yes, Paul-yes, motion carried.
AI motioned to approve the purchase of the internet package best suited for the Town of Wheaton from West Wisconsin Telcom as determined by Mark and Ruth. Ken second, motion carried.
Bob discussed the Hovland natural gas proposal. AI motioned to approve option #2 to convert furnace and make-up air unit, demo existing Co-Ray-Vac system and install new radiant tube
heating system in its place for the sum of $8, 148.00. Bob second, roll call vote taken. Paul-yes, Bud-yes, Bob-yes, AI-yes, Ken-obstained, motion carried.
There will be no contracts with the Chippewa County Humane Association in 2010 per Kathy Bernier, Chippewa County Clerk.
Purchase of score boards for the ball fields was tabled until the January Board meeting.
Linda Adler and Larry Sommerfield discussed the Room Tax Plan with the Board. Bob motioned to approve a one year accountability contract with Chippewa Valley Convention Bureau and keep the current agreement to collect the tax. Ken second, roll call vote taken. Bud-yes, Bob-yes, Ken-
yes, Paul-yes, AI obstained, motion carried.
There was no fire board report.
The next meeting was set for January 12, 2010 at 7 p.m.
Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
