TOWN OF WHEATON
MINUTES OF AUGUST 11,2009
Notices were posted at the Town Hall, Fire Station, Recycling Center, Eau Claire Travel Center on August 9, 2009.
Paul Krumenauer called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Present: Paul Krumenauer, Bud Beckwith, Bob Sworski, Al Solberg, Ken Custer, Ruth Fagerland, Mark Christenson. Minutes of the July meeting were accepted as read.
Treasurer’s report was approved as presented.
Bud reported the Plan Commission is still working on the Landuse Map for the Comprehensive Plan.
Nothing was done about transfer of 103rd street right-of-way or road upkeep on 46th Ave. Chippewa County is preparing a proposal for the curb at 50th Street and 10th Ave. Kristen Dexter was not present.
Tim Olson and Linda Adler gave a presentation on the function, advertising, promotion of the Chippewa Valley Convention and Vsitor’s Bureau. Wheaton’s 3 year contract with the Bureau expires at the end of 2009. Ken requested information on what the Bureau is doing for Wheaton at the present time. Tim agreed to get the information to Ken.
Ken Gibson gave his presentation on a new water filtering system for the Town Hall. Bob moved to purchase the new filtering system for $900.00 providing the system will take care of the iron problem and as the proposal comes back Paul will have authority to sign the contract. Filter and prefilter are to be included. Ken second. Motion carried.
There was discussion on routine maintenance of the 80th Street culvert issue.
Bob reviewed a proposal for the Fire Station wel cover. Al moved to postpone this until the September meeting. Ken second. Motion carried.
There was discussion on what to do about non-licensed dogs but no decision was made. Bob is looking into the purchase of natural material from Lee Jenson for the ball fields to build up the soil.
Al reported the Fire Board voted to purchase a truck for Howard for $382,000.00. They also dicussed getting a suction line for the front of the truck. There will be a special meeting on August 12th to discuss financing proposals. Transfer policies for the ambulance are being discussed again.
Next meeting was set for September 8, 2009. Meeting adjourned.
