August 10, 2010 Minutes of Board Meeting
Notices were posted at the Town Hall, Fire Station, Recycling Center, Eau Claire Travel Center on August 7, 2010. Paul Krumenauer called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present: Paul Krumenauer, Bud Beckwith, Al Solberg, Ken Custer, Fred Anderson, Ruth Fagerland, Mark Christenson, Tom Piercy, Adam Blaskowski, Helene Anderson, Bob Hayden.
Ken motioned to apporve the minutes of the July meeting. Al second, motion carried.
Al motioned to approve the Treasurer's report. Ken second, motion carried.
Helene Anderson reported that Butch Topper wants to take pictures of the cemeteries and record them on a computer disc. The project will cost $600.00. The Board approved allowing Butch to complete the cemetery project.
Bud Beckwith read the minutes of the Plan Commission meeting. He discussed the Wheaton Recreation Plan and the new form that may be used for zoning permits.
Ken presented the propsal from Larson Allen CPA Consultants and Advisors. There was much discussion of pro's and con's for the study. Tom asked if the Board could see a sample study of what has been done for another town. Ken agreed to research a sample study. Al moved to table the proposal. Ken second, motion carried.
Bud reported the Plan Commission suggests moving forward with the Concession Building Plan with the idea of planning for a pavilion in the future. Al motioned to approve the Concession Building Plan and to proceed with the bidding process. Bud second. Roll call vote was taken: Al-yes, Fred-yes, Ken-no, Paul-yes, Bud-yes, motion carried.
Tennis court rebuild prposal was tabled.
Paul Berg culvert issue was tabled.
Ken motioned to set up a payment plan for replacement of a guard rail by Mike Shepler. Al second, motion carried.
The Propane Gas Proposal was tabled. Mark will try to secure more bids and will review at the September meeting.
Al motioned to rebid the dugout project at the park and have bids due for the September meeting.
Al reported there were no transactions at the Fire Board Meeting. The Board met in closed session with the interim chief. There have been 46 applications for the Chief position. Ron Wolfe is acting as deputy chief for Wheaton.
Paul will get bids on phones for Pat and Dave.
Al will get a price on the propane tanks at the Hall.
Next meeing was set for September 9, 2010 at 7 p.m.
